Hermes' cIOS 222/223 Hermes' cIOS222 and 223 are alternatives to using Waninkoko's cIOS249. These are custom IOS files which provide support to homebrew for accessing the USB ports, the DVD drive, and other useful hacks. There are some compatibility differences that may make you wish to try these instead of cIOS249. Wii Hacks recommends the use of cIOS222 installed as IOS38 merged with IOS37 over any other cIOS.
There is no inherent difference between installing as 222 or 223. Since Hermes offers multiple ways to install his cIOS with various merged and non-merged combinations, he also provides for installing in two possible slots, 222 and 223. It is your choice which slot you use, and which install method. There is no functional difference between installing in slot 222 or slot 223, only a difference in name.

What does it do?: This guide shows you how to install cIOS into vWii (aka the Wii-mode of Wii U) and backup vWiis keys and NAND. CIOS is needed to use backuplaunchers like Wiiflow and USB-Loader GX. This does not enable any hacks in Wii U-mode! Note: You already need to have installed on vWii to use this guide (use one of )! Lets go: Download the following package: (Mirror at the bottom of the post) All files are up-to-date (as of april 29th 2016)! Note: To avoid errors, only use the files provided in this archive! Don´t mix with other d2x-installer versions, meta.xml files etc.

Don´t worry, everything is up-to-date and the latest and greatest version. It contains: - Dump Mii NAND v1.2 - d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii - d2x-v10-beta52-vWii - FIX94s d2x cIOS Installer 2.2 mod First we make a backup of your vWii NAND and keys: 1.) Extract the contents of vWiicIOSapps20131218.zip to the folder of your SD card. Note: Make sure that you don´t have any original Wii system files (like wads) on your SD Card! D2x installer could accidentally use them for installation and brick your vWii! Also make sure that you have at least 528MB of free space on the SD Card for the NAND dump. 3.) Launch Dump Mii NAND from the Homebrew Channel. 4.) The NAND and keys dumping will start automatically (the NAND dump will be stored in sd:/nand.bin, the keys in sd:/keys.bin).
Note: DON´t use this dump on an original Wii! 5.) When finished (depends on the speed of your SD Card), the Wii U will reboot. 5a.) (Optional, but recommended step.) Dump your IOS one-by-one to wad files for possible semi-brick fix (for more info read ): I.) Download YetAnotherBlueDumpMod from. II.) Copy the files to your SD card sd:/apps/YetAnotherBlueDumpMod and launch the app from the Homebrew Channel. II.) Go to System Titles and dump each IOS individually to a wad. When prompted to fakesign the ticket or TMD, say No to both.
It's a tedious process, but it could save you a lot of trouble in the future. If you don't have CLEAN (non fakesigned) IOS, you won't be able to fix semi-bricked vWii.
You can't create non fakesigned wads from a NAND dump or from using ShowMiiWads. You NEED to use YetAnotherBlueDumpMod. Now we install d2x cIOS: 6.) Launch d2x cIOS installer from the Homebrew Channel. 7.) Choose which d2x cIOS version you want to install, beta52 or beta53-alt.
If you don´t plan to use EmuNAND, i recommend beta53-alt. Note: For info about the differences between beta52 & beta53-alt click. 8.) Select cIOS: (Alternative: beta52) Select cIOS base: Select cIOS slot: 9.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish. 10.) Press A to continue. 11.) Select cIOS: (Alternative: beta52) Select cIOS base: Select cIOS slot: 12.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish. 13.) Press A to continue.
14.) Select cIOS: (Alternative: beta52) Select cIOS base: Select cIOS slot: 15.) Press A to install and wait for installation to finish. 16.) Press B to Exit. 17.) Launch newest or or from the Homebrew Channel. Note: To copy game images from PC to your external HDD with the correct folder structure, use. To fix the 4:3 aspect ratio bug of the Homebrew Channel, see FAQ & Troubleshooting section.
Cios 222 V4 Installer
18.) Read the FAQ & Troubleshooting section carefully! 19.) Happy gaming! FAQ & Troubleshooting: - there is currently no Bootmii for vWii, so we use Dump Mii NAND. there is no Hermes cIOS 222/223 for vWii (don´t install the Wii version!). connect your HDD to the upper back USB-Port.
you need a Y-USB-Cable for some 2.5' HDDs to properly work (even when they worked on the original Wii), because the Wii U USB-ports have a lower power supply. if HDD gets detected but no games load or HDD 'clicks' you need a Y-USB-Cable - to prevent the HDD format message on bootup, use.
some HDDs don´t work with cIOS 249(base 56), so change the cIOS to 250(base 57) or 251(base 58) in your USB-Loader. to fix the 4:3 aspect ratio bug of the Homebrew Channel use or (tueidjs fixer doesn't require installing a wad to the console, it's a homebrew to launch from Homebrew Channel before launching other homebrew). to (un)install wads i recommend (english Version) or (german version).
if you want to start installed wads like VC/Wiiware from SD card, you need to patch IOS80 (system menu), use for guidance. Note: This is dangerous!
If you f. up IOS80, you will get a brick! Only use the patch if you know what you are doing! - don´t install Priiloader, it will brick your vWii! - don´t install original Wii Channel Forwarder, they will freeze on startup! Use the ones from.
(For WiiFlow you can use the ) Many tools/installers/wads etc. That worked on the original Wii will brick vWii! So be very cautious on what you install!

Hi Keithuk, Thank you for responding! I have downloaded SysCheck from your site and got my report: sysCheck v2.1.0b17 by DoubleA and R2-D2199 runs on IOS58 (rev 6176). Region: NTSC-U System Menu 4.3U (v513) Drive date: 2008.12.18 Homebrew Channel 1.0.0 running on IOS58 Hollywood v0x21 Console ID: 142975603 Boot2 v4 Found 80 titles. Found 46 IOS on this console. 17 of them are stub. Hi Maplelea I had the same problem but now I have sorted it. Follow these instructions and see if it works for you.

Firstly goto and download the file then follow these instructions. Extract the the wads and apps folders to a clean sd card. Make sure you have deleted all usbloader gx channels or forwarders from the wii. To do this you goto the wii options bottom left of the main page, select data management, then wii channels. Select any gx channels you have and delete. Put the SD card that you have just extracted the the two folders to in the wii, and goto homebrew channel. Select Multi Mod Manager and load it.
Reload to IOS236 (reload to another ios is at the bottom of the list) click it and select 236. Navigate down to wad manager with wiimote (third one down) and press A on wiimote to select. Press 1 on wiimote to select all wads for batch install, then press A to install. That's it you are all done. You now have two options. You can use this sd card to load gx from or you can copy the usbloader gx folder to wherever you normally have your apps folder for your other loaders and apps. Enjoy this version of usbloader gx.
The techy info for it is that this is USBLOADER GX 2.3 r1128 that runs on ios249 as default and has just been updated on 19-11-11 to run full nand emulation for game saves and channels. This worked perfect for me and no everythin is running fine. Hope this helps. Sposa3 install this you must reload to ios 236 to install these files properly. If you extract the pack to a blank sd card, I'm pretty sure I have set mmm up on this pack to auto load to ios 236 if it doesn't select load another ios (it's at the bottom in the main mmm screen) once on 236 select wad manager and select all wads (1 on the wiimote) i think.
(it's been a long time) then install them. Now load your usb loader best to always reload to ios 236 as this is by far the best for installing into.
Hi Keith, Thanks for the PM. I had one question that I have not quite understood in your instructions.
After downloding and run it from Windows, I get lots of options to select. I have selected whatever I felt appropriate in my case but I did not get any option to select or enter the answer for 'On the main menu type in SU (SU means sysCheck Update) and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv'.
Can you please explain where exactly I should see or go to do this? Thanks again!!Which part of my PM didn't you understand?
Download and run it from Windows. On the main menu type in SU and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv. Its easier to put this on the root of a drive as it saves typo's. That will download all wads and apps that are missing into a COPYTOSD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted. First of run IOS236-v5-Mod and install IOS36 as IOS236. Come back out and run Multi-Mod-Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all wads in there.
Watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't install just try them again. Computer security. Now ModMii only installs 2 d2x v8.0 wads so you may as well install all the others.
HH your giving away our secrets when users are to bleeding idol just to post a simple sysCheck when asked. Only mapleleaf71 has posted one so I sent him a PM with what was needed.
